2/20/2010 - Casino Night!

This weekend is full of lots of fun activities. It began on Friday night with the Harvard Veritones singing in the East Wing of Weld after dinner and before study hall.

Saturday featured some amazing home games, including a heart breaking loss to Tabor for the boys' hockey team with 25 seconds to go. After dinner, the East Wing of Weld was tran...   View
2/19/2010 - This evening, Holderness hosted the Harvard Radcliffe Veritones, a mixed a cappella group from Harvard University in Cambridge, MA. The kitchen provided a delicious set of desserts, and we got to enjoy a wonderful and spirited concert of a cappella music. The performance spanned a wide range, from Barry Manilow ("I Was a Fool") to Christina Aguilera ("The Voice Within"), ...   View
2/18/2010 - Every afternoon during the winter sports season, nearly 150 skiers and snowboarders climb on buses and head to several great local ski areas, including Loon, Waterville Valley, and Cannon. The trips there and back are opportunities for students to get work done, visit with friends, and catch up on some sleep. Sometimes, a trip can have a bit of drama, like what happened ye...   View
2/18/2010 - Overtime Win!

This winter basketball fans have enjoyed several exciting last second wins. Yesterday was no exception. The undefeated boys' JV basketball team went into overtime against High Mowing's Varsity. It appeared that we were headed into a second overtime when High Mowing tied the score with less than thirty seconds left. The boys waited literally until the ...   View
2/16/2010 - Welcome back to snow!

In spite of all the snow in the Mid-Atlantic states, New Hampshire has had a surprisingly little snow. Needless to say the 3-6 inches of white stuff makes traveling back to campus after Parents' Weekend problematic. That said, it was a gift to finally get more snow on the ground.

Pictured above is a group of returning students who seem...   View

This year, as part of the Parents' Weekend theme of celebrating the Chinese New Year, we were all treated to a fabulous fire works "surprise" display on the quad. The spectacular fireworks were made possible by Peter '79 and Nanny Noyes, who are parents of Beckett '08 and Charlotte '11.

The fireworks went off on the quad at 5:45 for fifteen ...   View
2/11/2010 - As we approach Winter Parents' Weekend, the Frog Pond continues to be a source of fun for families and students alike. Last night, Martha Macomber captured Cam and Mr. Tom Lee out on the pond shooting the puck back and forth while they waited for Samantha Lee '12 to get ready to go out to dinner.

As you're looking for things to do this coming weekend, think about t...   View

2/9/2010 - In a dramatic come-from-behind win, the Holderness Math Team won their first dual meet this weekend against a competitive Tilton team.
