Our gifted art faculty provide offerings in photography, drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, music recording, improv, and theater.

9/29/2009 - Rock Band!

Tonight, after family-style dinner from 6:45-7:45, we enjoyed intervisitation in the boys' dorms. As I was walking by Webster, I looked in a corner room expecting to see girls visiting boys in Webster. Instead there were five students and Mr. Skelley playing Rock Band. Needless to say it was excellent entertainment for them and for all of us fortunate e...   View
9/28/2009 - This morning, we transformed the Chapel into a classroom of sorts to talk about the mystery of the sacrament of the Eucharist.

Mr. Barton, who teaches a world religion course called "Bible," began the service with a quick reflection about his class. "I begin each semester asking students to discuss in brief their background and experience with formal religion. It i...   View

9/25/2009 - This morning at assembly, we stood up together and sang "Lean on Me," that great Bill Withers classic. The song is familiar to us here at Holderness, as it is often used as a prelude to Special Programs in March, and was played a few weeks ago at an impromptu birthday gathering at Mr. Ford's house.

We were led by the "assembly house band" made up of Mr. LaRocca on ...   View

This afternoon at 5:00 the girls' field hockey team played one of our most competitive Lakes Region rivals, the New Hampton School. It was an exciting match, which our ladies won 3 to 1.

The event was timed so that we could get as many students as possible out to the game and build school spirit as we enthusiastically cheered on our field h...   View

A school-wide goal this year is to actively implement Wiki pages into the curriculum. Steve Solberg has been visiting classes to provide helpful hints and models.
