5/14/2009 - Dance Team Performance
Tonight was an eventful evening on campus. Ryan Tyler inspired the senior class and faculty with his senior chapel reflection, "Don't Cut the Quad." Then we were all excited to learn that the yearbook, the "Dial," had been dedicated to John Teaford.
If that weren't enough activity, the dance team held a performance in Hagerman following... View |

5/13/2009 - Jonathan and Company!
After last night's picture of the day, with Katie and her senior crew, I was delighted to see the opposite ratio today at lunch. Jonathan Bass was sitting with a table of 2012 classmates, all of whom were young ladies. Jonathan certainly looks like he is enjoying lunch AND the company!
Pictured here are: Hannah Halsted, Josie Brownell, B... View |

5/12/2009 - The boys' and girls' Plymouth Youth Lacrosse teams (also known as "the Wolves"), joined the Holderness varsity lacrosse players yesterday afternoon for some skills, drills, and fun. Roughly 40 local youth lacrosse players ranging in age from 8 - 14 showed up in full gear ready to go! Holderness players, despite their two-hour practice beforehand, jumped at the opportunity ... 5/12/2009 - Katie's Angels!
Tonight while we were eating dinner, there was an unusual amount of noise coming from pantry (the dishroom). The source of the noise was a very enthusiastic and hard working pantry crew. This group of seniors, led by Chris Borsoi, volunteered to do evening pantries to help us make it through the end of the year. They asked to be assigned to work fo... View |

5/11/2009 - The "Stone Chapel" is an annual tradition at Holderness, as seniors add their own rock to the cairn slowly growing at the Outdoor Chapel above campus. It's a time of reflection and transition, as the seniors and the school begin to look around and understand the positive effect these leaders have had on us, and how much our community will change as they move on to new chal... 5/10/2009 - Thank you to the parents, friends, alumni, faculty, staff, and students who made Family Day 2009 such a success. The rain held off for a good portion of the day, allowing us to enjoy one another's company for activities and games in the beautiful spring New England weather.
Above, the Marvins - one family among the many that joined us yesterday - take a quick pictu... View |

5/9/2009 - It was another great night of poetry and prose at Holderness, this time starring Donald Hall, New Hampshire Poet Laureate from 1984 - 1989 and the fourteenth Poet Laureate of the Library of Congress - heck, arguably the best living poet in the United States. He read for a Holderness audience that, thanks to Dean of Academic Affairs Peter Durnan, had become familiar with hi... View |

5/8/2009 - Happy "Cinco de Mayo!" Well, all right, it's a few days ago, but it's still a great picture.
On Tuesday afternoon, Lori Hyslip (mother of Jack '10) and Nanny Noyes (mother of Charlotte '11) brought all the fixings for a "fantastico Cinco de May fiesta"! We had (non-alcholic) strawberry Margaritas, guacamole, salsa chips, a pinata filled with candy, key lime pie, som... View |

5/8/2009 - To the winners go the spoils, or so the saying goes. Webster Dorm, victorious in the Winter Carnival 2009 competition, earned themselves a week of no dress code, and they decided to cash in this week. And they picked a nice one with the generally pleasant spring weather. Congratulations to Webster; enjoy basking in your glory... in t-shirts and shorts.
