4/25/2010 - A Post-Wiz Social!
Friday night "The Wiz" opened to a packed Hagerman Auditorium. After the performance, in many of the dorms students continued to talk about the great play with their friends and dorm parents.
In the Macomber Dorm a post-play ice cream party spontaneously came to be. The students in the above photo (Kelly DiNapoli, Addie Morgan, Hannah Foo... View |

4/24/2010 - Spring Dress for Boys!
Yesterday Ashleigh Boulton presented a proposal to the administrative team that we allow the boys to move to spring dress code. Spring dress code for boys means they can wear dress shorts, do not need to wear a sport coat, and can wear leather shoes without socks. Ashleigh announced the change in school assembly yesterday. As part of Ashleig... View |

4/23/2010 - Tonight, the Holderness School Players will present "The Wiz," a lively and fun musical adaptation of "The Wizard of Oz" to the student body, and will present another performance (free!) for the public on Saturday night at 7:30 PM in the Hagerman Auditorium. All are welcome!

4/22/2010 - This morning, as students and faculty walked into Schoolhouse, they were greeted by large arrows on the carpet made of Dixie cups. The arrows led to Mr. Teaford's and Ms. Brewer's classrooms. Inside Mr. Teaford's classroom, we found hundreds of Dixie cups on his table, each filled with water. A few cups held colored water, spelling out "M.M. Prom?" A few paces down the hal... View |

4/22/2010 - Overlooking Livermore Common on the front of Livermore Hall, one can find the school's crest, mascot (the bull), and motto ("Pro Deo et Genere Humano"). Derek Eaton from buildings and grounds has been up on a ladder for the past few days putting a fresh coat of paint on the front of Livermore (in anticipation of Commencement in a few weeks) and spent much of yesterday maki... 4/22/2010 - A Holderness Thank-a-thon!
On Thursday evening, the Office of Advancement enlisted the help of several students in a "thank-a-thon." The goal of the event was simple: call current parents, alumni, faculty, and parents of alumni and thank them for their contribution to the Holderness Annual Fund and, through it, to the people and programs at Holderness School. The An... View |

4/21/2010 - Happy Birthday Ben!
Today after the girls convincingly beat Gould in their varsity lacrosse game, they surprised Ben Lewis, Coach Lewis, and all of the fans by singing Ben Happy Birthday! The girls also thoughtfully provided birthday cupcakes for Ben.
While Ben may not remember his first birthday, the rest of us certainly will. Congratulations to the Varsit... View |

4/19/2010 - Head's Holiday!
A variety of factors came together this morning to make today a Head's Holiday, a day of rest, relaxation, and friendship that happens three times each year.
First, Team Glew is out at the Boston Marathon today, running in memory of Sean Glew (a faculty member at Holderness who passed away last summer), and to raise money for the Foundation f... View |

4/19/2010 - Head's Holiday Baseball!
Because of the Head's Holiday today, we canceled all classes, practices, and most athletic events. The two exceptions to canceled events were varsity golf and varsity baseball.
Although Mother Nature provided us with lots of sunshine today, the temperature never got much above 50 degrees. Needless to say, that didn't keep Holderness s... View |
